Chile’s Government reported Friday 54 Covid-19 related deaths in its most recent press briefing.

Hence, the death toll reached 944, with Thursday 29 May as the deadliest day on record.

Chile also surpasses China’s case count, the epicenter of the pandemic, with over 3,695 diagnosed patients in the last 24 hours, totalling 90,638 since the pandemic took hold.

According to Johns Hopkins, China still reports over 84,000 cases this Friday.

The Ministry of Health also said that 1,143 people are on ventilators and that 306 are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, 38,598 patients have been declared as “recovered”, Mañalich said.
