Mother Panic Volume 1!! In stores now. I’m a day late on this update, as well as other updates that I missed completely due to a harrowing animal health issue last week, but all is finally getting back to normal. Lots to write and lots to catch up on, so many amazing things going on, with Lindsey and Frances’s phenomenal art show (pics soon I hope!), and other things. Mother Panic— go check this book out. I’ve written a solid afterword in the back, which gives you some insight and gushing all over this wonderful team. A lot more exciting things in store for our character Violet Paige on the way. Jody’s title for Volume 1, ‘A Work In Progress’ has had so much meaning this year, for all of us at the imprint, the imprint itself, personally I’ve felt a tremendous amount of change. And it is through that kind of change that I connect with this book so much. I feel like we are all works in progress. And we have a really amazing back up story with Gotham Radio. MILK WARS PART 1: JLA/Doom Patrol!! In stores now or available digitally on comixology. This is it! Kicking off the first crossover for DC’s Young Animal with the DCU itself, we have Chapter 1 of Milk Wars. This is something we have been working on for some time. When Dan DiDio first suggested the idea of Young Animal crossing over with the heavy hitters of the DCU, I was a little intimidated. But everyone in Young Animal really embraced the idea of a big classic crossover like the ones we grew up with, and Steve Orlando was there to teach us how to make one of these things work. We all (Cecil, Jon, and Jody, Steve) spent a couple days at my studio, working through the whole story, with a big white board, and the more we worked on it, the more we loved it. This is truly a crossover event done Young Animal style. Please check it out— we feel it is completely worth it and definitely unique. I imagine this may be the first of many projects where I collaborate with Steve Orlando, and he fit right into our weirdo family. I also imagine it will be the first of hopefully more projects with ACO, who absolutely killed it with the art, with beautiful colors by Tamra and Marissa. Legendary cover (featuring Milkman Man) by the legendary Frank Quitely. AND— very special sequence in the book, featuring our newest Young Animal star, Eternity Girl, by new Young Animal creators Magdalene Visaggio and Sonny Liew. Your first real look at this new character, who gets their own series starting 3/14. Credits: Writers: Steve Orlando and Gerard Way Illustrator: ACO Pg 12 by Hugo Petrus Colorists: Tamra Bonvillain and Marissa Louise Letterer: Clem Robins Special Thanks to David Lorenzo Riveiro Edited by Jamie Rich and Molly Mahan Eternity Girl sequence: Magdalene Vissagio (writer), Sonny Liew (art), Todd Klein (letterer).
