Even though president Michelle Bachelet returned today to the presidential palace, after almost three weeks of vacations, her figure is marked by the effects of the controversy around the resignation of Cristián Riquelme, ex administrative director of the presidency.

The polemic’s impact was reflected on the Cadem weekly public survey, where the disapproval of Bachelet increased in 4 points, passing from 61% to 65%. While her approval only varied a point, dropping from 27% to 26%.

Even 62% of the polled assured that the popularity decline is believed to reflect concerns over Riquelme’s controversy, which would has been significantly affecting the image of the Head of State.
