The ex minister Pablo Longueira, announced his resignation from the UDI. The decision was informed this Wednesday, and is related with the controversy around SQM.
In regards to the resignation, he expressed that ” this is a very painful decision in my life, but I´m taking this step , because I know that I have acted correctly”.
According to Longueira, ” Chile needs concrete actions”, and he assured that his resignation is reflection of that, and added “I want to tell the UDI that my party, my family and Chile Have been my passion and the reason of my life, we will stand up again. Because our strength arises from adversity. It has never been easy for us”.
On the other hand, he made a call to politicians of every sector, inviting them to heal the divisions of the past and give way to an united nation.
