"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running." I listen to this speech all the time when I need motivation. I listened to it throughout my journey. Wake up running, my dears. After two years, 100+ pounds and a new health issue-free lease on life, I can honestly say deciding to "start running" was my greatest decision. Why will you run? Top row: 304lbs to 190lbs in one year. The craziness is that the whole bottom row is the same weight. #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #100poundsdown #allnaturalweightloss #fitnessjourney #fitness #beforeandafter #eatclean #buildmuscle #tranformations #transformation #weights #weightlossmotivation #transformationtuesday #exercise #fitnesstransformation #lifestylechange #fitfam #fitspo #beastmode #riseandgrind #lift #getstrong #getfit #motivation #instafit #fitnessinspiration #fitfam

You can hate "fat people". You can talk smack. Don't sensor yourself on my account. I'm not bothered that I was "fat". But I think I'm bothered by people giving a crap that I'm not anymore. I'm bothered by how I see people treat one another. I'm bothered that people believe it's within their rights to judge others, fat or fit, so intensely. I'm bothered that some we are so casual with flippant comments – comments that may play over and over in someone's mind. While they may have the ability, no one has the right to make you feel small for who you are, what you do, or how you look. Other people's opinions only have weight if you let them. Be kind. Work hard. Be true to yourself. That is the only thing you owe the world. There's a catch-22 of social media: an online world of rose-colored glasses and cultivated personas serves to inspire so many but also normalizes unnecessary judgment of others. But if we are kind to ourselves and kind to others, the world around us and the world we create online can only become better. #throwbackthursday #tbt #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #100poundsdown #allnaturalweightloss #fitnessjourney #fitness #beforeandafter #eatclean #buildmuscle #tranformations #transformation #weights #weightlossmotivation #transformationtuesday #fitness #exercise #fitnesstransformation #lifestylechange #fitfam #fitspo #beastmode #riseandgrind #lift #getstrong #getfit #motivationmonday #beforeandafter

💬"STOP WAITING for Friday, for summer, for someone to fall in love with you, for life. Happiness is achieved when you stop waiting and make the most of the moment you’re in now." Being fit doesn't necessarily mean you're happy and being under or overweight doesn't necessarily mean you're unhappy. Being fit has made me less scared to try (and potentially fail) new things and more willing to make myself vulnerable. Because I love being physical and adventurous, I've found happiness in that. But the girl on the left wasn't unhappy. She had her own confidence and her own insecurities. Insecurity isn't synonymous with unhappiness. Insecurities are inevitable and they shift and change with time and circumstance. Maybe the best way to be happy is to decide you are – to stop putting off your life until you reach a certain goal or hit an arbitrary number on the scale. Maybe the best way to be happy is to say "screw it" and just start living. #throwbackthursday #tbt #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #100poundsdown #allnaturalweightloss #fitnessjourney #fitness #beforeandafter #eatclean #buildmuscle #tranformations #transformation #weights #weightlossmotivation #transformationtuesday #fitness #exercise #fitnesstransformation #lifestylechange #fitfam #fitspo #beastmode #riseandgrind #lift #getstrong #getfit #motivationmonday

😑 Yeah…. Those are hamburger shorts…. The first question many people ask when people lose weight seems to be "How long did it take you to lose the extra weight and get healthy?" My answer: Almost two years ago, I decided to change my lifestyle. The first year I saw drastic changes and lost over 100lbs. The second year, I devoted my attention to subtle tweaks in gym programming, started my own nutrition planning and saw small, slow, subtle changes like increased muscle mass, strength gains and facial differences. But how long did it take to get healthy? It'll take my entire life. There is no end game. There is no final goal. There's only the journey. And man oh man do I love it. #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #100poundsdown #allnaturalweightloss #fitnessjourney #fitness #beforeandafter #eatclean #buildmuscle #tranformations #transformation #weights #weightlossmotivation #transformationtuesday #fitness #exercise #fitnesstransformation #lifestylechange #fitfam #fitspo #beastmode #riseandgrind #lift #getstrong #getfit #motivationmonday

💬Transformation Tuesday: "I want to apologize to all the [people] I have called pretty before I’ve called them intelligent or brave. I am sorry I made it sound as though something as simple as what you’re born with is the most you have to be proud of when your spirit has crushed mountains. From now on I will say things like 'you are resilient' or 'you are extraordinary', not because I don’t think you’re pretty, but because you are so much more than that." -Rupi Kaur For every "body goals". For the "fitspos", the "summer bodies", the "instafits". For the young girls and boys whose minds say "I'd kill for [insert celebrity name]'s body" or "they'd love me if I looked like that." I hope these words permeate the voices (your own and others') that tell you that you aren't good enough. Love yourself for who you are. Put in the effort to be your best version of yourself. Celebrate your achievements… Your strengths… Your victories. And try your best to celebrate your flaws. Use the energy you spend wishing for other people's bodies on learning to love your own. Treat it kindly and take care of it. Trust where you are in the process and be gentle with the words you say to yourself. Transformations aren't just physical. Being kinder – to yourself and to others – can only make the world a better place. #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #100poundsdown #allnaturalweightloss #fitnessjourney #fitness #beforeandafter #eatclean #buildmuscle #tranformations #transformation #weights #weightlossmotivation #transformationtuesday #fitness #exercise #fitnesstransformation #lifestylechange #fitfam #fitspo #beastmode #riseandgrind #lift #getstrong #getfit #motivationmonday #transformationtuesday #transformation #fit

💬Life is about trade offs. Weight loss is about changing your lifestyle. We know the formula – More sleep. Less stress. More water. Less sugar. More exercise. Less excuses. More determination. Less guilt. Show up. Work out. Keep going. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 The photo on the left is me in high school at 17 (and not even close to my heaviest weight). I vividly remember this school trip. I remember it because it was amazing, life changing, moment making. We were 17 year olds exploring France without our parents. I also remember it because the airline lost all my luggage and when I called my parents to tell them, they said "Laura, you're in Paris! Go shopping!" That would have been the magic words to cue a TV movie montage. But for an overweight 17 year old who dreaded shopping and the constant rejection of not fitting into things I loved, it was hell. I walked to the tourist shop across the street, bought three T shirts and a sweatshirt, and rotated them for the rest of the trip. I remember this point in my life. I was playing soccer (which I stopped playing in university). I didn't feel horrible. Most people around me thought I was wildly confident. But I remember that quiet voice of insecurity that explained away everything that made me unhappy with "it's because you're fat". I didn't talk about my weight. I never let it seem like an issue that got under my skin. Honestly, nobody knew much about my struggle with self image until I'd lost about 70 pounds and was ready to open up about it. Until then, I was the epitome of fake it until you make it. Maybe we are all a bit like that in high school…. But we don't have to be like that our whole lives. Find yourself and then be yourself Time to head to the gym for sumo deadlifts, front squats, glute bridges, overhead press, bench, and some accessory work. Keep your eyes on the prize! #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #100poundsdown #allnaturalweightloss #fitnessjourney #fitness #beforeandafter #eatclean #buildmuscle #tranformations #transformation #weights #weightlossmotivation #transformationtuesday #fitness #exercise #fitnesstransformation #lifestylechange #fitfam #fitspo #beastmode #riseandgrind #lift #getstrong #getfit

I'm almost home after driving across the country 🇺🇸🇺🇸and I'm chomping at the bit 🐴 to get under the bar. After losing 100+ pounds in a year, I took some time over the last two months to enjoy life, friends and this summer and I've loved it. But I've missed the intensity and focus that comes from that tunnel-vision commitment to the grind. Well that fire is lit and ready to burn 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 This next few months is going to be dedicated to making gains in all respects. 💪🏽 This 47 hour drive has been filled with nonstop podcasts about #weightlifting, #bodybuilding, #crossfit, #nutrition, #sleep and #health. Special shoutout to the boys at @BarbellShruggedpodcast @mike_bledsoe @douglaselarson @barbellbuddha @alexqmaclin @ctpcam @mcgshrugged for keeping me awake and motivated as hell while I kick this Transamerica ass. #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #weightlossmotivation #fitness #fitnessmotivation #fitspo #instafit #weighttraining #naturalweightlossresults #weightlossjourney #riseandgrind #theirongiantess
