The administration director of the presidency, Cristián Riquelme, would have made direct purchases, this means, without tender, for more than 3 million dollars.

According to La Segunda, and based on ChileCompra data, the Government expended US$3.496.282 ( $2.262.213.409 million pesos) on 954 direct dealing through MercadoPublico.cl website.

These expenses include the production, staging and the making of the big presidential events at la Moneda and also outside the Government palace.

The Ministry of the General Secretary of the Presidency, explained that the purchases of direct dealing represent 48%, while 40% belong to framework agreement, and only 12% of the contracts were made through tender.

The past year, the presidency made 28 tenders for $573.685.831, in accordance to MercadoPublico.

Despite of the high percentage, the Direction Press of the presidency, pointed to La Segunda, that this amount has decreased in comparison with the previous administration. Because among 2011 and 2012, when Sebastían Piñera was the president, the direct purchases reached 56%, while in 2013, the rate reached 60% of the total.
