The minister Mario Carroza and the director of the Legal Medical Service (SML), Patricio Bustos, stated that after a joint work, it was confirmed that the body of the dictatorship’s victim that was found in the 29th patio of the General Cemetery belongs to Carlos Guzmán, who was murdered when he was 23.

The analysis results demonstrated that his death happened as consequence of bullet injuries and also have shown that his assassination was violent.

The SML made the analysis of the body together with laboratories of the Health Science Center University of North Texas at the United States, and the International Commission on missing persons at Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The body of Carlos Guzmán was found in 1991, during an exhumation at the General Cemetery of Santiago.
