Anglo American had announced on Monday the conclusion of the sale of the cooper mines Mantos Blancos y Mantoverde. Located in the North of Chile, for 300 million dollars and possible future benefits.

The group who has purchase the two exploitations it is principally integrated by the British Audley Fund, Capital Advisors and Orion Mine Finance, a conglomerate with a strong presence in United States and Australia.

The operation was developed under the Aglo American Actives- transfer policy, in response to the fall of the metals prices.

Anglo American will receive an immediate payment of 300 million dollars and future potentials transfers, possibly reaching the US$ 200 million, for the cooper price evolution function, which certainly fell in the boreal summer to its minimum rates in six years.

The Giant Miner has specified that with this sale it has been gathering 1900 million dollars since the beginning of the year because of its actives transfer. The main contribution has preceded from the sale of its part (50%) of the capital from the British constructions materials company Lafarge Tarmac to the Swiss-franc group LafargeHolcim.

Otherwise, Anglo American Platinum, an Anglo American filial, announced last Wednesday an agreement for the Sibanye Gold sale. The biggest Gold Mine of South Africa for US$330 million.
