Los versiones ‘robot’ de las mascotas de los Juegos Olímpicos y Paralímpicos de Tokio-2020 fueron presentadas ante varios centenares de escolares, que descubrieron todo lo que saben hacer, este lunes en la capital nipona.
Unos 600 niños aplaudieron y gritaron “¡kawaii!” (“¡Lindo!”) mientras se desvelaron las versiones robotizadas en pequeño formato de las mascotas, constató la AFP.
Los dos personajes de corte futurista, Miraitowa y Someity, pueden expresar “sentimientos” con los ojos, haciendo aparecer corazones o estrellas.
“Los robots jugarán un papel activo durante los Juegos”, señaló a los niños Jun Ninomiya, director de la escuela primaria de Tokio en la que se celebró la presentación.
Miraitowa, azul y blanco, es la mascota de los Juegos Olímpicos y Someity, rosa y blanco, la de los Juegos Paralímpicos.
Los dos robots tienen grandes ojos y orejas puntiagudas, con múltiples articulaciones y brazos que pueden ser controlados a distancia. Este lunes imitaron posturas de varios deportes olímpicos y los niños jugaron a adivinar.
Fabricados en asociación con el constructor automovilístico Toyota, no pueden hablar, pero las cámaras situadas en el interior de sus cabezas les permiten reconocer las expresiones de la cara de la persona que se encuentra enfrente y reaccionar en función.
