Due to the conmemoration of the Worldwide hydrography day, event organized by the British Hydrography’s Office, this Wednedsday the Chilean director of the SHOA (Service of Hydrography and Oceanography from the Chilean Navy), Patricio Carrasco, was awarded with the Alexander Dalrymple 2015 prize. The recognition was given by the Royal Institution of Great Britain in London.

This award pretend to stand out to those who has demonstrated an outstanding dedication and contribution to the worldwide hydrography. This is the first time that a Latin American country has been crowned with this recognition.

Through a special interview with “Podría ser Peor” ( Could be worst), show lead by Julio César Rodríguez. Carrasco expressed his joy and pride due to this prize. A recognition to his latest five years of career, related to hydrography, oceanography and cartography.
