Chilean singer Camila Gallardo and seven people close to her were arrested Sunday at an illegal party in Santiago.

The event took place at the W Hotel in Las Condes, where she owns a flat.

The group was taken into police custody and later they were subpoenaed. The time and place for their testimony is unknown.

Prosecutors opened an investigation, which means Gallardo and company could be fined or even face charges.

Joaquín Lavín, mayor of Las Condes and presidential hopeful, took to Twitter to confirm the news.

“Eight people were arrested last night at an illegal party in a flat at the W Hotel (…) Neighbours called municipal security and recorded videos that show how loud the music was,” he wrote.

In a statement released on her official Twitter profile, Cami, as fans call her, said that she had “made a mistake” and said to be sorry for breaking Government restrictions.

In November, Gallardo was nominated for a 2021 Grammy Award in the Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album category alongside Bajofondo, Cultura Profética, Fito Páez and Lido Pimienta.
