The Ministry of Health confirmed three cases of men who contracted the Zika Virus, abroad, and who are treaty at the Chilean Continental territory.
It is about three ” young men”, who visited Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil.
Two of the cases were confirmed by the Public Health Institute, while the third case was ratified by the Clinic Hospital of the Catholic University.
“The protocols were applied, the samples were taken and the three cases have been confirmed”, the substitute Health Minister, Gisela Alarcón, assured.
In addition, Alarcón, emphatically discarded an outbreak, because the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the main virus vector, is not in Chile. And despite of the mosquito is in Easter Island, the needed protocols are active, as well as the giving of repellents and the permanent epidemiological vigilance.
