A través de plataformas de streaming y en el día de su postergado regreso a Chile, Metallica liberó para sus fans locales un material exclusivo de sus anteriores conciertos en el país.

La noticia fue confirmada a través de un mensaje de la propia banda, donde se detalla cuál es el origen de esta compilación.

“Saludos desde una segura distancia social… Metallica espera que tú y tus seres queridos estén haciendo lo mejor que pueden en estas circunstancias”, señalaron.

“Nuestros calendarios tenían marcado para hoy nuestra sexta visita a Chile desde 1993. En vez de quedarnos desanimados de no poder tocar para ustedes esta noche, pensamos que sería divertido dar un paseo por los recuerdos y volver a revisar todo lo bueno que hemos tenido en el pasado”, agregaron.

La selección de 18 canciones incluye episodios rescatados desde las mesas de sonido de sus recitales de 1993 y 1999, así como pistas remezcladas de 2010, 2014 y 2017. Entre ellas, destacan hits como Nothing Else Matters, Master of Puppets, One y Fuel.

Bajo el título “Live in Chile ’93-’17”, la recopilación fue liberada en Spotify, Apple Muic y iTunes Store y puede ser escuchada desde hoy en este link.

“Esperamos verte el 7 de diciembre en el Estadio Nacional, pero hasta entonces, mantente a salvo en casa”, comentó la banda sobre su próximo show en el país.

The entire Metallica family was shocked and saddened to hear of producer, writer, and composer Hal Willner’s passing earlier today. He was a truly inspirational collaborator, someone who through his unique combination of musical knowledge and warm personality, invigorated every project he touched, including co-producing our very own collaboration with Lou Reed, 2011’s “Lulu;” Hal expertly helped to guide us all to a project we loved, and remain fiercely proud of, to this day. His breadth and scope within the world of music was incredible. From being the sketch music producer of Saturday Night Live since 1981 to producing albums for Lou, Marianne Faithfull, William S. Burroughs and Laurie Anderson, Hal’s love and appreciation of all styles of cutting-edge music and art made him a man in high demand. “I will always treasure the time I spent with Hal in those most inspiring and collaborative environments. He was such a warm, open, and communicative person, and as Lou’s right-hand man, he was absolutely essential in pushing “Lulu” forward. I’ll never forget him, and I know I speak for the entire Metallica family when I say he will be greatly missed.” — Lars Rest in Peace, Hal.
