Last Friday, Mahmud Aleuy, Interior Sub secretary, made a new balance of Coquimbo region, after the 8.4 magnitude quake and subsequent tsunami.

He confirmed as 15 the number of dead. On the same line, he pointed out the number of affected people, which actually are 16.056, and told that the first emergency house has been installed.

In addition, it was noted that since the quake happened the government has been giving more than 475 tons of help.

But one of the most remarkable statement was that the Chilean Government is studying the possibility of installing a worldwide seismological center in the country, and last Thursday had place the first experts meeting.

The sub secretary declared they are awaiting for a reasonable deadline in order to have the first ideas about this initiative which pursued to make Chile a referent on this matter like in astronomy with the ALMA astronomical center.
