Two Brazilian girls (3 and 7) were killed in a landslide in Cajón del Maipo, Central Chile. They were sisters.

According to the police, the landslip occured around midday near El Yeso Reservoir.

The victims were travelling with their parents and one of them died instantly. The other was rescued by a police helicopter and taken to hospital, where she died.

Further details of the landslide and their deaths are still unknown, but the family had arrived to the area on a tourist bus with 20 other people.

This tragedy happens a week and a half after six Brazilian tourists died in a Santiago flat that they rented on Airbnb, allegedly due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
