10 new cases of Dengue were confirmed in Easter Island, thus, there are 14 cases total, until Thursday morning.

According to the Ministry of Health, all the affected are relatives and residents in the Island.

The Minister (s), Jaime Burrows, assured that only two of the affected are children. The rest of the people are adults, and warned that probably we are going to face more cases of Dengue on the coming days“.

The intendant of Valparaiso, Gabriel Aldoney, said that one of the main factors that impact on the contagion is the garbage dump of Orito, located in the Island. Thus, they are evaluating its elimination in the long term.
