Surprise have caused the statements emitted by the president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, after he denied give support to Bolivia due to the maritime demand before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at The Hague.

On Monday many parliamentarians expressed their discontent because of the support demonstrations given by Cuba, Venezuela and Ecuador The situation did not pass unnoticed, and some legislators solicited to the Chancellery the emission of a protest note.

But yesterday, Rafael Correa, talk about the incident and assured that those words were invented, according to La Tercera.

“In Bolivia were invented some declarations of mine that didn’t exist”, referring about the supposed support given to Evo Morales. It’s important to highlight that president Michelle Bachelet is currently visiting Ecuador, where both presidents had an extended meeting of the Chilean- Ecuadorian Binational Board.
