LAN Express workers started a legal strike today Thursday, they are demanding salary increase, this after the negotiations with the company failed.
‘Some fights are hours late, some are canceled, even the company stated that this is due to a meteorological phenomenon, but the truth is that the company has been overwhelmed by the strike’, said the Union secretary of LAN Express, Eric Arce, to AFP.

Through a formal statement, the Company said that it will operate normally after the startup of a special plan destined to ‘minimize the effects that the strike could have in its operation’.

The strike was summoned by one of LAN Express’s Unions and involves 40% of the maintenance personnel and terrestrial operations in regions, intended to work in flights within Chile and in some South American Cities.

The Union, made up by 881 workers, wants to get a salary increase of 15%.
