“La La Land”, el tributo de Damien Chazelle a la época de oro de los musicales de Estados Unidos, es la gran favorita de los Globos de Oro al recibir este lunes siete nominaciones.

“Moonlight,” “Manchester by the Sea” y “Florence Foster Jenkins” le siguen con seis, cinco y cuatro indicaciones, respectivamente, para la ceremonia que abre la temporada de premios en Hollywood el próximo 8 de enero en Beverly Hills.

El anuncio de las candidaturas se hará unos días antes a las del influyente sindicato de actores (SAG) y dará las primeras pistas sobre las cintas que pueden llegar a los Óscar.

Los nominados a Mejor Película dramática son “Hacksaw Ridge” de Mel Gibson, el thriller “Hell or High Water”, los dramas familiares “Lion” y “Manchester by the Sea”, así como la conmovedora “Moonlight”.

“La La Land” competirá como Mejor Musical con “20th Century Women”, “Deadpool”, “Florence Foster Jenkins” y “Sing Street”.

Aunque tiene un perfil superior al de los SAGs, los Globos de Oro no son vistos tanto como un indicador de los gloriosos Óscar debido a que un pequeño grupo de periodistas no estadounidenses -la selecta Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood (HFPA, por sus siglas en inglés)- escoge a los ganadores y no la industria del cine como tal.

Por el lado de la televisión, la antología a la historia criminal “The People v, O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” lidera con cinco nominaciones.

El drama de AMC “The Night Manager” le sigue de cerca con cuatro, mientras que “Black-ish”, “The Crown”, “The Night Of”, “This is US” y “Westworld” consiguió tres cada una.

HBO suma en total 14 nominaciones.

Los Globos de Oro serán entregados el 8 de enero en el hotel Beverly Hilton de Beverly Hills, con Jimmy Fallon como presentador.
