The Chilean Banking achieved a positive balance because in February of 2016, the institution obtained profits of 272.000 million pesos. This amount represents an increase of 1.2%, compared to the same period of 2015.

Additionally, in comparison with January, the banking profits grew 74.22%, according to the monthly report from the Superintendence of Banks and Financial Institutions (SBIF).

The report of the SBIF points out that the Bank of Chile got profits of 84.000 million pesos, the institution with highest profits in February.

At second place is the Bank Santander-Chile, with profits higher to 74.000 million pesos, followed by BCI, with more than 48.000 million pesos.

On its behalf, Banco Estado achieved profits of more than 18.000 million pesos. But, on the other hand, according to the report, four financial institutions showed negative results: JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A., Rabobank Chile, Paris Bank, and Ripley Bank.
