This Thursday will be voted, at deputies chamber, the project to decriminalize abortion in three exceptions, after more than eleven hours of discussion between the parliamentarians.

According to the debate developed on Wednesday, the Government would have the enough votes (more than sixty), to approve the initiative, on its first legislative stage.

During her intervention at the chamber, the independent deputy, Alejandra Sepúlveda, assured that eventhough she is not in favor of abortion, women cannot be banned of deciding when it comes to a dramatic case, thus, she is going to approve the project.

While deputy Gustavo Hasbún (UDI), has pointed the project as precursor to eugenics.

On his behalf, deputy José Antonio Kast (UDI), assured that with the approval of this project, the congress would be signing the death warrant for million of Chileans in the future.

The project requires a simple quorum to be approved, and until now, 8 independent deputies, among them 4 members of the opposition, and 12 DC parliamentarians, have assured be in favor of the three exceptions.

This amount, added to the 17 votes of the PS, 15 votes of PPD party, 7 belonging to the Communist party, and 6 from Radicals, the Government would obtain more than 60 votes, the majority to approve abortion in three exceptions.
