The UDI party will meet today, at the National Congress, with the General Secretary of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, to ask him to intercede in favor of the extradition of Galvarino Apablaza, accused of murdering Jaime Guzmán.
They insist on the need of fulfill the extradition process of Apablaza, who is in Argentina as refugee. This way, on Monday, the president of the party, Hernán Larraín, together with Edmundo Eluchans and the deputy Issa Kort, have met with the president of the Supreme Court, Hugo Dolmetsch, to broach this subject.
After the encounter, Larraín, expressed the importance of his appearance before Chilean Tribunals, to establish his responsability on the murder of the ex senator. In addition he assured they will use up all the legal instances.
On his behalf, the UDI vicepresident, Edmundo Eluchans, claimed that Chile has all the guarantees of the process, to have a fair trial.
