The National Federation of Cargo Transportation (CNTC), requested the State the declaration of state of emergency for the regions of La Araucanía and Bio Bio, after a new incendiary attack in Tirua.
Sergio Pérez, president of truckers, explained they are requesting this drastic measure, because ” our country cannot continue kneeling before the terrorists”.
The sayings were supported by the president of the Federation of owners of trucks, José Villagrán, who has not discarded new mobilizations because of the reiterated acts of violence at the zone and has described as insufficient the State Security Law, that the Government announced after the attack in Tirua.
On its behalf, the National Society of Farmers (SNA), has published trough a statement that ” the time has come to consider other faculties that the Executive has, as the state of emergency.
The Government, through its spokesman, Marcelo Díaz, referred about the request of the transportation entrepreneurs and announced the adoption of new measures to face the attacks. In addition, he assured that the situation will be analyzed, between the high command of Carabineros and the Interior Minister.
