The presidents of Chile and Brazil, Michelle Bachelet and Dilma Rousseff, have made a joint press statement in the context of Rousseff’s official visit to Chile.

Both presidents are facing complex scenarios, because while Bachelet is still scoring her lowest approval levels on public surveys and is still living the consequences of the Caval case, the Brazilian president is suffering the results of the corruption scandals of Petrobras and has been ruling even without any support,

At the conference, the presidents highlighted the colaboration and the strong bilateral relation between both nations, mentioning agreements of cooperation, related to subjects like investigation, development, arts, politic, production, and economy.

Bachelet remarked that Brasil is important for Chile, in commercial terms, and mentioned the Agreement of Cooperation and investment facilitation that was subscribed in November of 2015, and which benefits the Chilean economy.

On her behalf, Rousseff expressed her gratitude to Bachelet due to the Chilean help in the combat against the Zika virus.
