The inquiry regarding to the collusion of prices among CSAV and other international companies has even reached Brazil. Originally, this collusion case was disclosed by authorities from United States, Europe and Japan, in 2012.

This kind of cases allow to the competent authorities of the countries involved, take part in the investigations. And due this, the firm belonging to the Luksic Group, has been investigated by the Brazilian authorities and also by suitable Chilean institutions (FNE).

Within the line of investigation that Brazil is following, the other investigated companies are, additionally to CSAV, Eukor Car Carriers Inc., Grimaldi Group SpA, Hoegh Autoliners Holdings AS, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Nissan Motor Car Carriers Co. Ltd, and Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.

The new action, leaded by the Brazilian General Superintendence of the Administrative Council of Economic Defense, could even derive in severe sanctions and also on prison sentences for all the executives involved. But, according to María Elena Cruz, Director of the center of free competition from the Catholic University, The CSAV and other two companies would be exempted of those sanctions.

The 80 people, who got involved on this price fixing operation, would have worked through emails,phone calls and personal meetings. Additionaly, it would have existed fixing of costumers within the operations.
