The interior Minister, Jorge Burgos, has requested to the National Federation of Cargo Transportation, cease the trucker strike, which began on Friday night, in protest against the price of tolls.
According to the State secretary, the proposal presented by the Government, which was rejected by truckers’ representatives, ” gathers the main points they have been talking about during the negotiations”, and he qualified the mobilization as an unjustified measure, because of blockades at important routes of the country (68 and 78).
Until now, Burgos has discarded the taken of severe steps against the truck drivers, because the blockings have been partials and have not obstructed the traffic completely.
The proposal take into account the decrease of the peak hours, road works and tender’s revisions.
