Next March 9th, the Appealing Court of Temuco, should determine the nullity of the trial about the assassination of the American psychologist Erica Hagan. After the Public Ministry decided to impugn the trial where Domingo Cofré, the only accused of murdering the woman, was absolved.

The consultant lawyer of the Public Ministry, Claudio Beratto Raggi, explained that his plea was focused on that the main evidence of the case was not considered by the Tribunal, which is the DNA belonging to the accused, discovered on the supposed murder weapon.

On his behalf, the lawyer Luis Felipe Romero, member of Cofré’s defense, said that his plea has proved that the DNA evidence were already considered during the trial and were valued by the Tribunal to absolve his client.

Both parties have submitted their arguments before the Court, thus, All that’s left is to wait up for the tribunal pronouncement.
