The government will decrease the development projection for this year, as a result of the strong drop that the copper prices have shown. The estimated new rate would be close to 2% and distant from the 2.75 %, previously announced by the Executive.

The situation was confirmed by the Finance Minister, Rodrigo Valdés, in the frame of his participation at the World Economic Forum from Davos, Switzerland. This, considering that the GDP´s projection has been calculated base on an average copper price of US$2.5 per pound.

The information was ratified by the acting finance minister, Alejandro Micco, who assured that the falling in price of the red metal would have motivated the decision.
