Uruguay and Chile agreed the elimination of the double payment of the income tax and patrimony, in the frame of an agreement that also points to the prevention of tax evasion. This, according to information provided on Friday by the Uruguyan Government.

Through a statement, the Uruguayan Chancellery, informed that the last round of conversations ended on Thursday and as a result it was established a convention to eliminate the double taxation for the income and patrimony taxes.

This kind of agreement avoids to pay taxes twice for the same concept in two different countries.

Uruguay and Chile have an agreement for the promotion of investments in force.
