With tributes to Violeta Parra and Gabriela Mistral was inaugurated the third Ibero-American Summit of Gender. The instance was headed by the President Michelle Bachelet and counted with the participation of Santiago’s mayor, Carolina Toha, and more than 400 personalities from 21 countries.

The meeting organized by Ibero-American Union of municipalities (UIM), UN Women, the Municipality of Santiago and the Chilean Association of Municipalities, delved into the gender equity, the debate of public policies, the changes to advance towards the equity between women and men, and the need of promoting the construction of new urban models.

The inauguration had place at the iconic Cerro Santa Lucía, while the summit will last four days.
