FACH officer and member of mission of peace in Haiti was shot

An Officer of the Chilean Airforce (FACH) and also member of the mission of peace in Haiti was injured on the past Friday night at the caribbean Island.

According to a official statement of the joint staff, the captain Max Wanner Espinoza, was wounded by a projectile on his back.

The projectile would have been fired from the outside of the Base by an unknown, the text explained.

Captain Wanner was moved to the Argentinian Hospital in order to receive first aid, and was diagnosed as stable without vital risk.

Afterwards he was transfered to the Santo Domingo’s Hospital of Dominican Republic where doctors operated on the captain to remove the projectile.

Finally an investigation was started in order to determine the circumstances of the incident.
