The General Secretary of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), José Angel Gurría, supported the reforms driven by the Chilean Government but has criticized the levels of inequality that has been reached in the country. Therefore he made a call to improve the productivity in order to raise the standard of living of the population.

The OECD’s General secretary has disclosed the register about the Chilean economy and despite of the progress,the improve of the standards of living , and the poverty decrease, he assured that Chile have a long way to do in order to enter on a path of sustained growth and inclusive.

In addition Gurría supported the reforms driven by the Executive, “on the right track to reach productivity and also guarantee a development for all”. And also pointed out that the main challenge for Chile is to improve the productivity to raise the standards of living and move forward to a society of knowledge.
