SANTIAGO, CHILE- Next Thursday a crucial meeting for the future of the Centenary America´s cup, would take place in the Conmebol central office, in Asunción Paraguay, where the host will be decided.
Facing the doubts of United States to host to The “Copa America Centenario”, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary, with a special edition tournament, that it would have taken the competition outside South America for the first time.
As a result, many countries have shown their interest of been hosters. Including Chile, the actual Monarch.
Therefore, the ANFP (National Professional Football Association), through its President, Sergio Jadue, will bring to this meeting his proposal with the purpose of repeating the tournament in the country, which brought to La Roja, its first international title.
Jadue´s idea includes three groups, in which the seeded teams would be Argentina, Brasil and Chile. To this point everything is in order and pretty similar to what happened the last year. But the main change would be in the group stages.
On that point, Jadue suggest that every seeded team should play as local in their own groups. Consequently Chile would be group A local, in like manner Argentina and Brazil would do the same in their groups.
However, since quarter-finals to the final, the matches would be played in Chile. Using the America´s Cup 2015 hosters.
