The Air Force confirmed they found the fuselage of the helicopter Bell 206 lost since last Tuesday at the Atacama Region.

According to the information confirmed by FACh through a formal release, the aircraft was spotted during the morning, while the Air Search and Rescue Service (SAR) was working on the area, and all the passengers were found dead.

The Onemi’s Director, Ricardo Toro, declared that the fuselage was found near the Codelco’s Division, El Salvador, and some research is being done to obtain all the relevant background information. Meanwhile, the Chief Commander of the Fifth Air Brigade based in Antofagasta, Roberto Avendaño, informed that the finding took place near a ravine, very near to Road C-163.

The helicopter was crewed by Mauricio Rojas, Jorge Rojo and Christian Faguett, engineers working for Hidrosan, a company subcontracted by Aguas Chañar, and they were trying to assess the water catchment at the areas affected by landslides
